In Rifton, NY heat, warm air, iced lines, or a tripping breaker isn't something to sit on. We check charge, compressor amp draw, and coil condition before recommending a fix before any part gets quoted.
Topping off refrigerant without ever finding the leak is one of the most common ways Rifton homeowners get overcharged. Our process is pressure readings, spec comparison, and electronic leak detection, because a properly repaired leak outlasts three top-offs.
What every AC visit includes.
Every tech handling refrigerant carries current federal certification — a legal requirement we take seriously.
No-cool situations jump the schedule, most Rifton requests seen same-day in peak season, even during the busiest stretch of summer.
Capacitor or compressor, the price you approve is the price on the invoice before work starts.
Sniffers and UV dye find the actual leak point instead of masking the symptom, not just a temporary patch.
Six issues that cover the majority of what we see.
We locate, repair, and recharge to spec — not just refilled and sent on its way.
Hard-starting or high-amp compressors get tested before we recommend replacement.
Ice on the evaporator coil points to restricted airflow or low charge, and we trace the root cause instead of just thawing it, not just defrost it and hope.
Dual-run capacitor failure is a leading reason an outdoor unit won't start, and it's usually a same-visit fix once confirmed.
Debris on the coil drives up pressure and shortens compressor life, so we clean and inspect during the visit.
A blown fuse or tripped disconnect can present exactly like a dead compressor, so we rule these out first to avoid an unnecessary replacement.
What to expect once you call.
Tell us what the system is doing and we'll get a tech moving.
Truck arrives stocked with refrigerant, gauges, and common parts within your window.
Pressures and amp draws get measured before anything gets added, then quote a flat rate.
Same-visit completion is typical, backed in writing.
Reviews from completed cooling repairs.
Unit was running nonstop and still not cooling below 78. Tech found the charge was almost 20% low from a slow leak nobody had caught.

Outdoor fan motor had seized and was overheating the whole unit. Replaced it same visit and explained why it happens with age.
— K. Thibodeaux, homeowner

Rental property AC died on a Friday, tenant was not happy. Had it running again before the weekend without drama.

What people ask before we dispatch.
Usually a refrigerant leak, compressor failure, or a dirty condenser coil — we check all three and we test each before quoting.
Sure, but it won't stick — refrigerant is a closed system, so if the level dropped, it went somewhere specific, and we'll say so before you pay for one.
Cooling emergencies jump the queue, usually resolved within a few hours of your call.
It won't hurt anyone, but continued operation risks the compressor, so it's worth addressing quickly.
Our focus is central and packaged systems, though we can point you toward window unit resources, and can advise on window units.
You're paying for a proper pressure and electrical workup, not a guess — and that fee comes off the total if you move forward with the repair once you approve the fix.
Our coverage spans Rifton and the nearby zips shown here — call to confirm same-day.
